Spring: Finding Peace in Nature

In March 2020, I wrote a piece entitled, “When I Get the Blues.” It was the start of the pandemic, and we were feeling so much uncertainty in many aspects of our lives.
In that piece, I described going for a walk in my neighborhood and running into a friend with her dog. We walked and talked together along Myrtle Place. As I headed for home, I realized my blues had abated.
Five years later and much has changed. Some changes are for the better and some for the worse. When I get the blues now, my first instinct is to get outside in nature. There I find peace amongst the trees, the quiet, and the beauty. Sometimes I sit in my backyard and listen to the birds, watch the clouds, and perhaps do some much needed weeding.
I am so fortunate to have easy access to nature now nm. Today, as I sit with the blues, I have chosen to share photos of beauty with you.
